Department has 19 people making $80,000 or more.
Nineteen employees of the Mercer County Parks and Recreation Department receive salaries of at least $80,000 — with five executives receiving over $90,000.
This information was obtained by the Mercer County Republican Committee as part of an Open Public Records Act request. That request was made prior to last November's election. County counsel had released some of the county salaries but it was not until after the election that the Parks and Recreation department data was released.
Kevin Bannon, the department's executive director, has the department's highest salary at $133,000 according to the information released and is one of three individuals to receive over $100,000. John Long, the General Greens Supervisor at Mercer Oaks is reported to earn $103,000 while Francis Zabawa, a general supervisor, has a salary of $101,000 according to the report.
The other officials whose salaries exceed $90,000 are Parks Commission deputy director Glenn Rieth ($98,000) and Pleasant Valley Historical District director Peter Watson ($99,000).
